Looking Back

I tried to live
in the here and now
not looking back
not knowing how

To catch my fall
into darker thoughts
to live without regrets at all

It seemed looking back
meant to see all the faults
and all decisions so wrong

With it the anger and pain
the fear and the worries
grew louder, wilder, too strong.

It hunted me down
it threw me off track
again and again and again

But some of my memories
yet fresh and not dark
of friendship easing the sorrow

They remind me that life
is too precious to waste
and that there is always tomorrow.
